Coalitions

PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa has indicated that the jury is still out on whether the coalitions established will be in place for the next five years. However, it was his wish that the coalition governments stay in office for the duration of their term and deliver services to the people.

Ramaphosa told Parliament this week they had to respect the will of the people.

He said coalition governments were something new in South Africa and they have to learn as they go along. However, in other countries coalitions have been in existence for many years and sometimes it takes months for political parties to form coalitions. | Political Bureau

EFF MP and national spokesperson Vuyani Pambo is in trouble after it emerged on Thursday that he had missed the deadline to declare his business interests in Parliament and did not inform the party.

Party leader Julius Malema said

Pambo did not tell the EFF and ordered its whippery to take this up with him and discipline him.

In his response, which Malema read during the EFF’s press conference on the establishment of the inaugural municipal councils this week, Pambo admitted he made his submission late in the last disclosure period, but said it was because of his hospitalisation.
