Win a pontoon boat cruise

TOURIST attraction and local favourite Benguela Cove is a great destination for a one-day escape.

Situated between Hermanus and Cape Town and surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds, the wine estate sports contemporary art and sculptures.

The estate, which boasts lush vineyards and olive groves, is surrounded by a lagoon that hosts the Lady Bonnie pontoon boat, for maritime leisure.

The Walker Bay wine farm won the ‘Cellar Door Experience of the Year’ award and received medals of excellence for all 10 wine entries.

The cellar door experience at Benguela Cove includes the Moody Lagoon restaurant and a popular wine-tasting pontoon. They offer wine and cheese or chocolate pairings, winemaking experiences, a programme of major art exhibitions, music, year-round events and children’s entertainment.

Benguela Cove owner Penny Streeter said they were delighted to receive these awards. “It recognises our commitment to eco-tourism and the environment, as well as superb wines.

“Benguela is a unique destination, it’s at the lowest height, at sea level, and with the longest seaboard of any vineyard in the world.”
