HERITAGE Day celebrations take various forms in different parts of the country, and what better way to celebrate than with food?

Weekend Argus will host two Facebook Lives where two prominent chefs will chat about their heritage and prepare a traditional dish.

Desmond Tshikota is a geologist and chef who will talk about some of the traditions of African food and culture.

Known on social media as the Geo Chef, what makes him happy is eeing people smile as soon as they take the first bite of his meals.

Join him for a Facebook live on Wednesday, September 22, at 1pm on the Weekend Argus Facebook page.

The second chef that will host a Facebook live is Craig Cormack, the chef patron at Waterford Wine Estate. Cormack has been a chef for 34 years.

“Louis Leipoldt was a massive inspiration to me when I started researching South African cookery,” he said.

“Looking at the classics, I saw how I could make a recipe my own, based on culture, but in a modern way.”

Cormack wants to “celebrate the flavours only cultures can achieve”.
