LAUREN Weaver had always built puzzles but Covid-19 required more time at home so she started the Cape Town Puzzle Swop Group on Facebook.

Nearly 100 people are part of the Facebook group and Weaver said the group was also a way for her to connect with others.

Fowzia Davids from the Bo Kaap said she recently started puzzling soon after she and her husband came out of isolation after contracting Covid-19.

She soon got her friend involved and now she says puzzling is her passion: “We went away for the weekend where there was no signal and we just took a puzzle with us and puzzled for the whole weekend.”

Na’eemah Seedat is the owner of It’s Playtime, a business which sell educational toys for children and puzzles for all ages.

“In my family in December we build puzzles but I was very surprised by how excited people were about their puzzles. I have a few customers who have a collection of puzzles and I even suggested to some of them to share and swop puzzles but they are very attached to their puzzles.”
