Kids’ holiday period entertainment

WITH the school holidays having officially started, kids and parents alike are looking for fun things to do.

The City of Cape Town has announced that from Monday, libraries across the city will offer a variety of activities for all ages, including movies, outdoor and board games, robotic boot camps, face painting, puppet shows, as well as a host of various crafts and storytelling, to keep children entertained and positively engaged.

“I want to encourage our young patrons to visit their nearest library and join in the fun events,” said Patricia van der Ross, mayco member for community safety and health at the City of Cape Town.

“Our librarians work hard to ensure there is something for everyone and that activities are educational at the same time.

“Parents also have peace of mind that their children are kept busy within a safe space and in a constructive manner.”

The V&A Waterfront neighbourhood is never short of things to do, especially during school holidays.

Parents and kids can look forward to getting their hands dirty with fun and interactive art classes at Art Jamming, skating fun at Rollercade while Hint Hunt promises visitors of all ages a magical adventure in their Live Escape Games. GrandWest Entertainment World in Goodwood is offering value-formoney Fun Pack deals aimed at kids between the ages of 5 and 17.

The deal is available until the end of November.

The Razz Pack costs R110 per child includes a 10-pin bowling session at The Magic Company, a chicken sub with fries from Subz and a ring doughnut from Doughnut Hive.

The Matazz Packs cost R220 per child and include an ice-skating session at The Ice Station, a ticket to a 2D or 3D movie (excluding 3D glasses) at CineCentre, a kiddie’s meal at the Silver Dollar Spur and an original waffle at Milky Lane.
