Cape farm with potential for growth

HOME & Hectare is auctioning a farm with irrigation in Touws River on November 18, at 11am. The live as well as online auction will be held on site.

The 2 419 hectare farm is about 150km from Cape Town on the N1. It has 57ha under irrigation for the production of fresh vegetables and vegetable seeds. The balance is veld with indigenous vegetation for grazing.

Application has been made for the erection of a filling station with a shop and overnight truck stop on a portion of the farm.

The farm has several boreholes – one tested for 8 hours at 34 000 litres an hour – as well as a dam that covers 5ha, filled by run-off rainwater.

There is a spacious, neat dwelling; a carport; several storage areas and workers’ accommodation.

“This is a well-developed farm with several possibilities, one of which is the development of a solar farm,” the company says.
