State capture

FORMER Independent Police Investigative Directorate boss Robert McBride and former KZN Hawks head Major-General Johan Booysen will no longer face crossexamination at the state capture inquiry.

Legal representatives of those implicated by McBride and Booysen, including advocates Anthony Mosing, Sello Maema and Andrew Chauke, made a joint submission to submit a written summary of their versions instead.

They submitted that issues raised by McBride and Booysen were intertwined with other issues raised by other witnesses and cross-examination “would not serve any purpose”. |
