Government should have succession planning in place

THE government should have a functioning succession plan throughout its ministerial portfolios ... ensuring immediate and smooth transition, whenever necessary.

This latest presidential fiasco has proven that there is no one within the ANC hierarchy capable of succeeding Ramaphosa … a sad turn of events indeed.

This poses the wider question as to whether large institutions and conglomerates have plans in place when their CEOs resign, retire or get fired. Ramaphosa has exposed the government, as being a one man show … and it is frightening.

No depth in human capital means unqualified tjommies, cadres and family members should never be appointed. The once great ship South Africa, is currently rudderless! PETER BACHTIS | Benoni
