EFFICIENT collaboration will be key in ensuring South Africa realises the benefits of the Green Economy, according to the Nedbank Green Economy CSI Strategy Launch Webinar.

Last week’s virtual engagement, featured Nedbank executive head for CSI Poovi Pillay, Indalo Inclusive executive director Rest Kanju, food security advocate Tsholofelo Wenchoemang and development economist Ndumiso Hadebe. The central theme was that partnerships were vital in delivering a Green Economy that benefited the grass roots of society, particularly people living in under-serviced rural and township communities.

Through the Green Economy CSI Strategy, Nedbank identified six projects in agriculture, waste, water and energy in povertystricken communities, creating circular economies and financial exclusion.

The bank said it sought to work with partners across the value chain to establish best practice in addressing the climate challenge and poverty. |
