MALALA WRITES TO TALIBAN
NOBEL Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, 26, who was shot by the Pakistani Taliban as a schoolgirl, called on Afghanistan’s new rulers to let girls return to school. The Taliban say they will allow girls to return once they have ensured stricter segregation under their version of Islamic law. Yousafzai called on the leaders of Muslim nations to make it clear to the Taliban that “religion does not justify preventing girls from going to school. Afghanistan is the only country that forbids (it)” said the letter. |
