TRIBUTE TO SLAIN TEACHER

FRANCE paid tribute to teacher Samuel Paty at the weekend, a year after he was beheaded by an extremist after showing his class cartoons of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad. Paty, 47, was killed after leaving the school where he taught in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Paris, on October 16. His killer, Chechen refugee Abdullakh Anzorov, claimed the attack was revenge for Paty having shown his class the cartoons printed in the magazine Charlie Hebdo during a lesson on free speech.
